Food-I Seminar Series: ‘Wheat impacts of the Ukraine-Russia war and the pathway to greater resilience’

 
 

Prof Bentley is Director of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center’s (CIMMYT) Global Wheat Program and the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centre’s (CGIAR) Research Program on Wheat (WHEAT). She leads and manages a team of 40 international scientists who use scientific approaches to develop improved wheat germplasm. Prior to joining the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre in November 2020, Prof Bentley was working in the UK focused on translation of fundamental scientific breakthroughs into tangible impacts for the agri-food sector. Her research combines genetics and genomics to develop and deliver new tools and technology to improve plant breeding and crop production.
